It is constructed from 5 silver/chrome colored brushed aluminum plates with white lacquer on the inside. The slightly overlapping rings reflect the light downwards on the next giving the actual shade spectacular look. It also spreads a soft warm light downwards perfect for a large dinner table. Very good condition few tiny scratches due to age and wear and one tiny dent on top see last picture, nothing serious,
